China IC Leaders Summit 2020 Concluded, XTX Takes Back Two Awards
Summary: The China IC Leaders Summit 2020 and China IC Design Awards Ceremony were concluded. Mr. Mark Long, the CEO, Mr. Steve Wang, the Executive Vice President of XTX TECHNOLOGY (SHENZHEN) LIMITED (XTX) were invited to the awards ceremony to receive two awards , the“Top 5 Promising China IC Design Companies” and “EE Times Silicon 100 for Chinese Companies”. At the Summit, Mr. Steve Wang gave a wonderful speech entitled “Opportunities for domestic code-storage memory companies”.
On June 28, 2020, the “Annual China IC Leaders Summit & China IC Design Awards Ceremony” was co-held by the three journals EET, EDN and ESM in Shanghai. Local IC leaders and technical decision-makers who hold the spotlight in China’s semi-conductor industry and hundreds of senior design engineers were present to discuss and explore the breakthrough and growth of “Chinese chips” in the future.
In an address on the development and opportunities of domestic low-density memory, Steve Wang from XTX mentioned that with the emerging 5G+AIoT, development potential has been brought up by the new infrastructure resulted from 5G technology, cloud computing, IDC, edge computing and vehicle-mounted product market. NOR Flash, as a kind of low-density memory to guarantee the data security and reliability, is witnessing a fast growing market.

Meanwhile, Steve Wang focused on the three application scenes of 5G+AIoT and the demands for code-storage memory.
1. The applications in 5G broadband. As the construction scale of 5G base stations steps up in China, it’s predicted that the number of 5G base stations nationwide will grow steadily in the coming three years. Each base station will require several NOR Flash products of 512Mb-1Gb. 5G related equipment includes smartphones, therefore a wave of 5G smartphones replacement and optical innovation is on the horizon. Smart wearables include TWS/Air Pods and AR/VR, they have a growing demand for NOR Flash products featuring a low power consumption.
2. Applications needing fast connection. AIoT facilitates the smart upgrade of traditional industries. Many smart household devices and speech processing applications, for example hundreds of millions of smart speakers and clocks are purchased by customers each year.
3. Applications with a low delay and high reliability. The market demands driven by artificial intelligence, driverless technology and industrial internet of things have grown rapidly. He said, at present XTX is focusing on the research, development and sales of low-density memory products, of which the NOR series include NOR MCP and SPI NOR, and the NAND series include SPI NAND, NAND MCP and SD NAND, all of which are closely linked with the opportunities in the wave of new 5G infrastructure construction.
Mark Long from XTX attended the final round-table forum of the Summit with five distinguished guests, namely Professor Wei Shaojun, the Chairman of IC Design Branch of China Semiconductor Industry Association and the director of the Institute of Microelectronics of Tsinghua University, Liu Guojun, general manager of Imagination China Region, Xu Wei, the secretary general of Shanghai Integrated Circuit Industry Association, Li Yanfeng, the vice executive president and chief product official of ProPlus Electronics, Wu Zhenzhou, the vice director of the Components and Parts Application and Supply Chain Branch of China Information Industry Chamber. He mentioned that although influenced by the trade friction between China and the US and the pandemic of covid-19, XTX keeps increasing investment in research and development to continuously build the company’s core competitiveness, provide the clients with high-quality products and create values for them. Meanwhile, he believed that the key to shortening the distance from the world’s leading semiconductor companies lies in sticking to introducing cutting-edge talents and continuously the cultivation of talent teams, persisting in R&D investment and technical innovation for the market. XTX is steadily promoting business with a thirst for talented people under the contexts of global changes. Other guests also voiced their professional views from other angles of the semiconductor industry. The round-table forum went on in a heated atmosphere and drew applause from time to time.
